POWER
The pieces show the relationship between common citizens and the upper class. The main character is a baby that doesn't care about anyone, and simply does whatever it wants. The baby thinks that everything belongs to it, that it deserves everything, and everything should be given to it. The upper class has wealth and power, and they want more.
In the first piece, the baby wears an octopus-shaped hat symbolizing greed and desire and plays with crowns and gold coins dangling from a crib toy. People in the background are bending to the will of the baby, not knowing it brings them no good.
In the second piece, the baby digs through the crowns and jewels in the tilting cabinet. People try to keep the cabinet from falling over but will inevitably fail when greed consumes the baby.
